Emergency court order stops a foreclosure sale
Our clients faced the loss of their home to a scheduled foreclosure sale in a dispute over a construction loan, where there were serious questions about whether the work was ever completed or properly permitted.
We moved quickly for emergency relief. The court granted a temporary restraining order stopping the sale, then issued a preliminary injunction keeping the foreclosure on hold while the underlying dispute is litigated.

Tenants take a landlord to court over toxic mold
We filed suit in San Diego Superior Court on behalf of tenants who alleged they had spent years in a rental with toxic mold, water intrusion, and other uninhabitable conditions the landlord failed to repair.
The complaint pled multiple causes of action, including breach of the implied warranty of habitability, retaliation, and failure to disclose known conditions, and sought punitive damages.

Court of Appeal reverses a restraining order for an unfair hearing
Our client had a restraining order entered against them after the trial court declined to permit cross-examination of the opposing party at the hearing.
We appealed. The California Court of Appeal held that denying cross-examination violated our client's due process right to a fair hearing, reversed the order, and remanded for a new hearing.
Appeals demand a different skill set than trials. We do both.
Court orders a public agency to restore housing assistance
Our client was removed from a federal housing assistance program by a San Diego public agency over allegations the client disputed.
We petitioned the court for review. After briefing and argument, the court found the agency had abused its discretion and set the termination aside.
